New Ivor on BBC2W

 


BBC2 Wales have comissioned a number of short promotional adverts featuring Ivor the Engine for their digital service. These adverts have all been written and voiced by Oliver Postgate, using Peter Firmin's artwork.

The original card characters and backgrounds, along with some new pictures commissioned for the adverts were scanned in and then animated on computer using the same stop-frame techniques as originally used by Smallfilms.

The adverts will be mainly running on BBC One Wales, which is available across Wales to analogue viewers (old-fashioned UHF), plus on Freeview channel 1, Cable 101 and Digital Satellite 101. Across the rest of the UK, BBC One Wales is on Digital Satellite 942.

They've also been showing the original colour episodes of Ivor the Engine.
